Ohio River Cultural Resources Assessment 1976-1983

The Ohio River Valley cultural resources assessment was undertaken to ascertain the extent of human habitation along specific sites in Indiana along the Ohio River Valley. The report entitled Cultural Resources of the Ohio River Valley in Indiana, 1977, indicates that these sites span a close proximity to the river’s edge and were considered to be the most likely places for various human activities. The Glenn A. Black Laboratories of Archaeology at Indiana University in contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers performed this survey. The contract number for the investigation was DACW 69–77–M–0722. Principal investigators were Cheryl Ann Munson and James H. Kellar. The informational sources used in this study were a compilation of efforts by various agencies in several states.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP) and include a cultural resources report, finding aid, oversized materials database, and scanned asset key.
