Images of the Uinta Fremont (A.D. 0 - 1300)
Part of: Society for American Archaeology 90th Annual Meeting, Denver, CO (2025)
This collection contains the abstracts of the papers presented in the session entitled "Images of the Uinta Fremont (A.D. 0 - 1300)" at the 90th annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology.
The Uinta Fremont resided in what is now the northeastern corner of Utah between A.D. 300 - 1300. They participated in the corn lifeway of Pueblo cousins to the south, but unlike peoples in the Four Corners less is understood about the ideology, identities, and social history of these people. Research in this session centers on the rock imagery (aka rock art) of the Uinta Fremont as a lens through which to focus archaeological attention on these subjects.
