Native Americans and American History

Summary
Native Americans and American History is an overview of the study of the writing of Native American History in the United States. America’s understanding of Indian history has become increasingly nuanced and sophisticated, particularly in the last half century. Today’s historians continue to revise and build on the scholarship of those who came before them, and new perspectives continue to emerge—not only because new scholars enter the field, but also because scholars borrow theoretical insights from other fields and apply them to Native American questions.
