Summary
Bulk soil samples and detrital charcoal were recovered from paleoflood study sites in the
western Sierra foothills of California. These sites represent studies along the Rubicon, Middle
Fork American, South Fork American, Mokelumne, and Stanislaus Rivers. Botanic components
of the bulk soil samples and detrital charcoal will be identified, and potentially radiocarbon
datable material will be separated.
