PROTEIN RESIDUE ANALYSIS OF SOIL FROM A BELL-SHAPED PIT AT SITE 5LA9187, COLORADO
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2002
Summary
Soil around an area of beads in the bottom of a bell-shaped pit (Feature 5) at 5LA9187 in
southeast Colorado was tested for possible protein residues. This soil was tested to determine if
proteins were present to suggest the presence of a now decomposed pouch that might have
contained the beads, as well as to detect any human proteins that would indicate the presence of
a human burial in the pit.
