EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL/DETRITAL CHARCOAL AND AMS RADIOCARBON ANALYSIS OF MATERIAL FOR THE CARSON RIVER/LAHONTAN DAM PROJECT, NEVADA
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2005
Summary
A total of 14 samples were examined to recover organic fragments suitable for
radiocarbon analysis. These samples were recovered from three late Holocene terraces
adjacent to the Carson River immediately downstream of Lahontan Dam in western Nevada.
Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable
material was separated. Six samples were selected for AMS radiocarbon analysis.
