EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL FOR RADIOCARBON DATABLE MATERIAL FROM THE MAPLETON MEGATRENCH, UTAH
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2005
Summary
A total of 10 bulk soil samples from the Mapleton megatrench site on the Provo
segment of the Wasatch fault zone, Utah, were floated to recover organic fragments suitable
for radiocarbon analysis. One sample was collected from the trench, while the remaining nine
samples were recovered from Boreholes B1 and B2. Botanic components and detrital charcoal
were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
