Summary
Wood samples were recovered from an unidentified whaling shipwreck site near the
Pearl and Hermes Atoll located in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Samples are believed to
represent the keel and garboard strake of the site where wood was buried beneath
approximately five inches of sand. Wood samples were submitted for identification.
