Summary
Ten lithic artifacts from the Hellertown Site, 36Bu359, were examined for possible
protein residues. This site is a small, shallow upland Late Woodland site in southeastern
Pennsylvania. Samples were recovered from shallow precontact features and a shallow, buried
A-horizon (3Ab). Protein residue analysis will be used to provide information concerning
possible animal resources processed with these tools.
