Author(s): Elizabeth Hickey; Linda Scott Cummings; Melissa K. Logan; Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2009
Summary
Five hearth fill samples from site LA 159158 in the Loco Hills region of New Mexico were submitted for macrofloral analysis. The samples were excavated as part of an oil spill remediation project at Well Site RJ Unit 123. Macrofloral analysis will be used to provide information concerning plant resources utilized by the prehistoric occupants of the area. One mano fragment and two ceramic sherds were also submitted for pollen and organic residue analysis, respectively. The ceramic sherds were tested for organic residues using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
