MACROFLORAL AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS OF SEDIMENT FROM THE SAINT-GRÉGOIRE MILL AT BÉCANCOUR, QUEBEC, CANADA
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman; Chad Yost
Year: 2012
Summary
Sediment samples from inside the remains of a mill located at Saint-Grégoire de Bécancour in Quebec, Canada, were examined for phytoliths and macrofloral remains. The mill was built between 1785 and 1808 and was used until 1829 when it was sold. Today, only a small section of the cylinder and the foundations remain. Phytolith and macrofloral analyses may provide information on plant resources processed using this mill.
