POLLEN AND MACRO FLORAL ANALYSIS AT THE GRUB SITE, 48SW11644, WYOMING
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Curtis Nepstad-Thornberry; Thomas E. Moutoux; Kathryn Puseman
Year: 1999
Summary
Site 48SW11644 exhibits two occupational components reflecting occupation during the Opal phase (6290-5920 BP) and again much later during the transition between the Deadman Wash and Uinta phases (1830-1535 BP). Pollen and/or macrofloral analyses were conducted on sediment removed from large, slab-lined hearths, slabs lining the hearths, occupational surfaces, and groundstone to understand plant processing activities associated with these features and tools.
