Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Thomas E. Moutoux; Kathryn Puseman; Laura Ruggiero
Year: 1998
Summary
Pollen and macrofloral analyses were undertaken to examine Late Archaic and Pueblo II remains at Site 42GR2774 and a Late Archaic feature at Site 42GR2773. Radiocarbon dates indicate that the Late Archaic occupations occurred approximately 1600 to 1640 years ago. The Late Archaic occupations are represented by fill from a bell-shaped pit and a shallow pitstructure at 42GR2774 and by a small, shallow heating or processing pit at 42GR2773. The Pueblo II occupation at 42GR2774 is represented by a single pollen sample recovered from a large processing pit situated in a ramada.
