Notes

General Note: "S&ME has completed a Phase I archaeological survey of approximately 161 acres at the Sage Mill Industrial Park in Aiken County. As a result of these investigations, sites 38AK1008 and 38AK1009 were re-located, and one new archaeological site, 38AK1068, and two isolated finds were identified. Site 38AK1008 is Middle or Late Woodland (ca. 2500–1000 B.P.) lithic and ceramic scatter located in the northern portion of the project area. Site 38AK1009 is Woodland Period (ca. 3100–1000 B.P.) lithic and ceramic scatter located in the northern portion of the project area. Site 38AK1068 is a Woodland/Mississippian (ca. 3100–500 B.P.) lithic and ceramic scatter located in the central portion of the project area. These three sites and the two isolated finds are all recommended ineligible for inclusion in the NRHP. Based on these results, S&ME recommends that no historic properties will be affected and that no additional cultural resource investigations are needed in the 161-acre project area."
