General Note: "Of the two archaeological sites identified, only one SCHD Aiken 4, is located within project boundaries. Although this site is represented by a single artifact, its potential for yielding information regarding soapstone quarries in South Carolina, as well as intra-state trade during the prehistoric period endows this site with singular importance. No further archaeological investigations are recommended for frontage roads 1 and 2 and the new exit ramp. Further subsurface testing is recommended for SCHD Aiken 4 located within the eastern section of frontage road 3."
