Finding Aid, Clifty Creek Reservoir Area 1973-1974

Author(s): Ron Thurber; Edward Whitsell

Year: 2012

Summary

This collection is referred to as "Clifty Creek Reservoir Area 1973-1974.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is two (2) linear inches.

The rehabilitation for the Clifty Creek Reservoir Area 1973-1974 document collection was done in several stages, because various files pertaining to this collection were sent to the VCP at different times. For instance, a copy of the final report was sent electronically and printed on acid-free paper to be incorporated with the collection, and an original copy of the final report was sent by Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at a later date along with administrative and field records. The collection contained two oversized materials, a topographic map and a map of the project area, which required removal. The maps were humidified, flattened, and then scanned on an oversized scanner. They were placed in oversized storage.

An additional record series, Catalog Records, was created to house the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology artifact catalog and inventory for this investigation. These two files were sent to the VCP electronically, printed on acid free paper, and housed with the associated documentation. Scanned asset numbers were not assigned, because the files were uploaded into the digital imaging database directly from the file sent by GBL.
