Author(s): Dames and Moore, Inc.

Year: 1988

Summary

This document is a report that presents the results of a testing program completed at archaeological sites SBA-793 and -917 by Dames & Moore in October, 1988. The purpose of the work was to: 1) assess potential impacts to the sites from replacement of a security fence surrounding the Vandenberg Tracking Station (VTS), Vandenberg Air Force Base, Santa Barbara County, California and 2) to gather information necessary to assess the potential eligibility of SBa-917 for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. SBa-793 has been previously determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The two sites are believed to represent a single archaeological manifestation artificially truncated by construction of VTS facilities.
