Summary

In February 2005 the USAF initiated project-related Section 106 consultation with SHPD, Hui Malama, and the office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA), recommending a project related archaeological monitoring program based on the project's potential to encounter significant cultural resources including human burials and buried cultural layers related to traditional Native Hawaiian land use. CSH prepared the project's monitoring plan (Hammatt et al. 2005), which SHPD accepted (Log No 2005 .2A9Y Doc No 0509NM39). The monitoring plan called for on-site monitoring of all project related ground disturbance. No significant cultural resources were documented during the monitoring fieldwork.
