Author(s): William A. Vaughan

Year: 1983

Summary

The land use study was conducted by Wirth Associates as a portion of the environmental studies for the proposed Western Area Power Administration (Western), Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) and the Salt River Project (SRP) Mead to Phoenix Area ±500kV DC Transmission Line Project. This report is composed of inventory and impact assessment sections for the alternative 500kV transmission corridors between the Mead Substation and the Westwing Substation in addition to the proposed Eastwing Substation.

The purpose of the land use study, conducted between January and April 1983, is to provide the necessary data base to assess the potential impacts of all alternate transmission line routes to land use. The inventory section of this report identifies, delineates and describes the existing, planned and designated land uses in and adjacent to all of the routes being considered.
