Summary

This subsurface inventory survey project consisted of the excavation of sixty-one test trenches on or near the proposed construction sites for 18 antenna and the alignments for cables that would connect these antenna to the AIRCOM building at the Bellows AFS, Waimanalo, O'ahu. Potentially significant cultural deposits underlie a relatively small percentage (about 15 percent) of the proposed antenna field site the prehistoric cultural deposit in the Test Trench 15 series and the Test Trench 18 series areas are intact, date to the 11th -15th centuries and are of potential significance to our knowledge of Hawaiian prehistory.
