Summary

Between 8 March 2010 and 9 July 2010, Brockington and Associates (Brockington) conducted intensive cultural resources survey of a total of 7,559 acres within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District. These survey tracts include 1,193 acres at two different reservoirs in East Alabama, 676 acres at two different resevoirs in north Georgia, and 3,627 acres at a wildlife mitigation area in northeast Mississippi. This technical report is divided into three volumes. The current volume summarizes the findings from background research and intensive cultural resources survey of the three Mobile District Corps lakes in Georgia. During the present field survey, researches recorded a total of 36 previously unidentified archaeological sites (9G1200-9G1206, 9HL560, 9LU314-9LU322, 9TP1060-9TP1078), revisited three (9HE76, 9TP782, 9TP785) previously recorded archaeological sites, and identified 15 isolated finds (Isolates 1-15 Potts Road). This ARRA-funded task order employed 43 specialists for a period of 12 months.
