Summary

At the request of Cape Environmental Management Inc., T. S. Dye & Colleagues, Archaeologists conducted archaeological monitoring in support of the construction of new recreational lodging at Bellows Air Force Station in Waimanalo, O‘ahu. Archaeological monitoring was carried out for ground disturbance with the potential to affect material beneath or outside of the extent of Runway 3L-21R. Eleven discontinuous traditional Hawaiian cultural deposits and one historic-era refuse deposit were observed intruding into the naturally deposited dune sand of the Waimanalo Plain. No burial features or isolated human remains of any kind were identified during the course of the archaeological monitoring.
