Summary

The Lakehurst Lighter-Than-Air (LTA) Historic District is an early air transportation historic district located in the heart of Naval Air Engineering Station (NAES) Lakehurst, formerly known as Naval Air Station (NAS) Lakehurst. The district is comprised of 74 contributing properties and 10 non-contributing properties. Contributing properties are buildings and structures constructed between 1919 and 1953 as part of the Navy’s LTA aviation program that involved operation of both rigid and non-rigid airships.

This form is for use in nominating or requesting determinations of eligibility for individual properties or districts for National Register of Historic Places.
