Letter from the Department of the Army to the Texas Historical Commission, Altering the Floor of the Garage at Staff Post 1, Fort Sam Houston, Texas
Year: 2010
Summary
Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, through the Residential Communities Initiative (RCI) partnership with Lincoln Military Housing, is proposing an undertaking to alter the floor of the garage at Staff Post 1, designated Building 1B. Constructed in 1917 as a stable to support Staff Post 1 (constructed 1881) the building is utilized as storage and auto garage for the existing officer families.
After careful examination of this proposal, the JB-SA Cultural Resource Staff has determined this undertaking will result in no adverse effect. This determination is based on the fact that the APE is only the building interior and that these spaces are for use by the Staff Post 1 occupant only.
