Summary

On behalf of the U.S. Army, the National Park Service, Mid-Atlantic Region contracted Louis Berger and Associates in association with Heritage Studies, Inc. to complete an archaeological survey and architectural inventory and evaluation of all cultural resources (see tDAR records #438622 and #438623) at Fort Dix Army Training Center, New Hanover, North Hanover, Pemberton, and Springfield Townships and Wrightstown Borough, Burlington County, and Jackson, Plumsted, and Manchester Townships, Ocean County, New Jersey. The investigation was completed in accordance with Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The architectural inventory recorded facilities built during or prior to 1933 on HABS/HAER Level IV inventory forms and followed U.S. Army, NPS, and Office of New Jersey Heritage inventory guidelines. In total, the architectural survey inventoried 39 buildings and completed HABS/HAER Level IV inventory forms for 37 facilities.
