National Register of Historic Places Inventory-Nomination Form: Camp Dix Warehouse Historic District [Draft]
Author(s): Heritage Studies, Inc.
Year: 1983
Summary
This is the draft nomination form for the Camp Dix Warehouse Historic District. The Camp Dix Warehouse Historic District, located entirely within Fort Dix in central New jersey, is composed of five originally identical frame warehouses (Buildings 3102, 3103, 3112, 3114, and 3124) and the masonry base of a grain elevator (Building 3199). All were built in 1917 and 1918 as part of World War I mobilization. The Camp Dix Warehouse Historic District is significant as the most intact remnant of the original Camp Dix. For this reason, the district is a surrogate for all other World War I buildings at Dix which no longer exist.
