Summary
This letter report summarizes field investigations at the site designated 18MO396, otherwise known as Locus I within Area 400 at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, Maryland. Phase II investigations involved the excavations of 20 one meter square units, as well as, two additional smaller units and soil samples. The majority of artifacts were found in the silt loam level. Artifacts were historic (late 19th century/early 20th century) and prehistoric (Late Archaic-Transitional), and consisted primarily of debitage flakes, biface fragments, and fire-cracked cobbles.
