Summary
This is a poster submission presented at the 2020 annual meeting of the Society for Historical Archaeology.
The aim of this poster is to present a general overview of the research that have been developed by LAAA-UFS in its ten years of existence. Since the themes of the researches is quite varied, it was decided to use a broader concept than Maritime Archaeology in the name of the laboratory. Thus, in general terms, the various material forms of human interaction with water are the focus of the LAAA action.
Created in 2009, the laboratory congregates professors and students from the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Archaeology. Despite the difficulties of public financing in recent years, the LAAA has been working on several fronts, having produced relevant results in the scope of Brazilian Maritime, Nautical and Underwater Archaeology. And this scientific performance has always been guided by the procedures advocated by the UNESCO Convention of 2001, despite the permissiveness of national legislation.
