Summary
This document includes contract design elements for the upgrade of the COBRA DANE facility to support the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) System. The COBRA DANE radar is located on the island of Shemya, Alaska. The facility is a 68,000SF, 100-foot tall, structure comprised of a single face phased array radar. The facility supports the COBRA DANE radar with prime power, electronic equipment cooling as well as temperature and humidity control. The objective of this project is to upgrade the existing COBRA DANE Facility for the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) System.
