Summary

This contractor generated letter report is a historic property inventory and an assessment of adverse effects associated with the All Terrain Vehicles (ATV)/Obstacle Course Improvements Project. The purpose of the letter is to compile any prior or current studies performed in support of the ATV/Obstacle Course Improvements project as a single Section 106 report. To support Section 106 compliance requirements, CAPE Environmental Management, Inc. (CAPE) contracted with Albion to complete this archaeological study under Contract no. GS-10F-0059N and Task order no. FA8903-15-F 0023 on behalf of the 30th Space Wing of the United States Air Force at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB). This letter report describes the results from a Phase I pedestrian survey and Extended Phase I subsurface testing effort conducted by Albion Environmental Inc. (Albion) on June 4-8, 2018 for the ATV/Obstacle Course Improvement Project and contains a brief background, methodology, results, and management recommendations, as well as an attachment with Project maps and photographs for the project. The report specifically examines project impacts and/or avoidance strategies for one archaeological site; CA-SBA-2888.
