Summary

This contractor generated letter report is a historic property inventory and an assessment of adverse effects associated with the Water Distribution System Rehabilitation Project at the Rod and Gun Club. The purpose of the letter is to compile any prior or current studies performed in support of the Water Distribution System Rehabilitation Project at the Rod and Gun Club as a single Section 106 report. To support Section 106 compliance requirements, the 30th Civil Engineer Squadron, Installation Management Flight, Environmental Section, Environmental Assets (30 CES/CEIEA) at Vandenberg AFB retained Applied Earth Works, Inc. to conduct a background investigation of nearby archeological sites within a 100-meter buffer of the Project; conduct an archaeological surface and subsurface survey of the proposed replacement water main line, valve, and hydrant locations; and prepare a letter report documenting the effort and the results. The report specifically examines project impacts and/or avoidance strategies for one archaeological site; CA-SBA-579.
