Summary

This document is a Section 106 report on the Identification of Historic Properties and Assessment of Adverse Effects for the K1, K4, K6, K7, and K8 Feeder Line Replacement Project at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), Santa Barbara County, California. The Area of Potential Effects (APE) was defined and delineated by VAFB archaeologists. An Area of Direct Impact (ADI) was developed to include those areas that would sustain ground disturbance during demolition and construction. The APE contained 17 previously recorded sites, and one site that recorded during the course of this project. The purpose of this project is to demolish several overhead electrical feeder lines. This report seeks State Historic Preservation Office concurrence that 1) VAFB delineated an adequate APE, 2) that 5 cultural resource sites do not meet the National Register of Historic Places criteria of significance, and 3) that the report concluded no adverse effect to historic properties.
