Summary

This document is a Section 106 report on the Identification of Historic Properties and Assessment of Effect for the Repair Conduits Along Umbra Road and Tod Road Project at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), Santa Barbara County, California. The report 1) delineates the Area of Direct Impact (ADI) as providing sufficient space for the project, and 2) that the Area of Potential Effect (APE) is defined as the intersection of the ADI and the full extent of the archaeological boundaries, and 3) there are archaeological resources within the proposed project boundaries. The document seeks concurrence from the State Historic Preservation office for 1) the project APE, and 2) the finding of no adverse effects to historic properties. If project results in an inadvertent discovery VSFB will re-open Section 106 consultation with the SHPO and Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.
