Cultural Resources Surveys of 13.3 Acres for Sandia National Laboratories Environmental Restoration Project: Two Geophysical Test Alignments, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico

Author(s): Steven R. Hoagland

Year: 1994

Summary

A cultural resource survey of approximately 13.3 acres of property situated within Cibola National Forest withdrawn lands, Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), Bernalillo County, New Mexico, was recently completed at two locales proposed for geophysical test alignments. The surveys resulted in the recordation of five isolated occurrences (IOs). These isolated occurrences are no longer thought to be potentially significant as all important information has been recovered through field recordation. For this reason these artifacts are no longer thought to be eligible for inclusion to the National Register of Historic Places. Cultural Resource clearance is therefore recommended.
