National Register of Historic Places Eligibility Evaluation of Sixteen Structures Undergoing General Maintenance & Repair, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico

Author(s): Karen Van Citters

Year: 2000

Summary

Structures at Kirtland Air Force Base that were being affected by general maintenance and repair were evaluated using the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria for eligibility, appropriate historic contexts, drawings, photographs, and site visits. This report documents thirteen structures that were not considered eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, because they are not yet 50 years old and have no thematic association with the Cold War, and three structures that are 50 years old, but that have lost their architectural integrity and, therefore, are not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
