Summary

This ICRMP was developed to provide for effective management and protection of cultural resources. It summarizes the history and prehistory of the installation, and reviews past historical and archaeological survey efforts. There are over 500 structures/buildings on the installation. The majority of historic facilities (45 years or older) at PAFB have been surveyed and recorded. With the exception of a historic district, none of the facilities are considered eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The Colorado Springs Municipal Airport District (5EP774) consists of facilities 979, 980, 981, 982, and 999 and is listed on the NRHP.
