Survey and Evaluation of Historic Buildings on Peterson Air Force Base (Final Report)

Author(s): Alexandra Wallace

Year: 2017

Summary

This project was initiated by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on behalf of Peterson Air Force Base (AFB) and conducted by the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). The selective intensive-level survey is under the authority of Section 110 and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), as amended, and in accordance with the History Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (OAHP) requirements. The survey also evaluates each building’s eligibility for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Documentation for each building is recorded in accordance with the History Colorado OAHP requirements for a Level II (intensive) survey. The field work combined with archival research and in-depth interviews revealed that none of the buildings included in this survey are eligible for nomination to the NRHP either individually or as part of a district.
