Summary

This report presents an inventory of historic properties of the Cold War Era on installations of the 21st Space Wing, Air Force Space Command (21 SW). This overview outlines the major political and military events of the previous half-century, with special emphasis on developments directly related to the 21 SW mission.

This report begins with a brief overview of the Cold War Era to provide a general historic context for the inventory of 21 SW properties (Section 2). A comprehensive inventory of properties constructed and/or used during the Cold War is presented in the specific context of a description and history of each GSU (Section 3); individual facilities at each GSU installation, with the exception of Maui SSC, are listed in Appendix A. Recommendations concerning historic significance are summarized in Section 4.
