Summary

The U.S. Navy contracted Louis Berger & Associates, Inc. to complete HABS/HAER Level III documentation for the proposed demolition of the addition to Building 124 (Heavier Than Air Hangar), a contributing element of the Lighter-Than-Air Historic District at Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, Jackson and Manchester Townships and Lakehurst Borough, Ocean County, New Jersey. The study was completed in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and National Park Service guidelines. The Building 124 addition, the Office and Shop Building, was a one-story, wood-frame building constructed in 1933. The final documentation includes a historic report, photographs of the facility and architectural drawings.
