Boles Wells Water System Annex Cultural Resources Survey Holloman Air Force Base Otero County, New Mexico

Part of the Holloman Air Force Base Resources project

Year: 1997

Summary

Between November 1995 and June 1996, Geo-Marine, Inc. (GMI), conducted intensive cultural resources inventory survey on 15,955 acres of Holloman Air Force Base (HAFB)-administered properties in the Tularosa Basin, Otero County, New Mexico. The study was focused on two environmentally and spatially distinct areas. Due to the distance and environmental differences between the two study areas, results of investigations are presented in separate reports. This document summarizes the findings in the BWWSA portion of the study.

Archaeological inventory in the BWWSA resulted in the documentation of 53 previously unrecorded sites and updating of three previously recorded sites on HAFB-administered properties.
