Summary
This document is a report that summarizes archaeological background research and field work conducted in support of the proposed Union Oil Company Santa Maria Pipeline. The proposed development is located in northern Santa Barbara County and consists of alternative corridor routes extending from the mouth of the Santa Ynez River approximately 10 miles west and then north to the Santa Maria Basin through Graciosa Canyon. The purpose of this report is to complete cultural resource compliance for the project EIS/EIR. Previous archaeological reports related to the project include a background and sensitivity study, four field reconnaissance reports, and three letter-reports clarifying points raised during earlier phases of planning and research.
