Summary

Paho, Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #2639. Morris FS 3916. Analyzed by Laurie Webster, 2006. Small crook-shaped ceremonial stick. Charred at tip and crook. Measurements: L 19.6, W 1.9 at crook. Image: AZRU8-2639 A: crook-shaped paho. Recovered from Earl Morris' excavation of Room 154-2, third level, Aztec West Ruin. For Room 154-2 Morris reports that “Through the vent in the west wall of Room 113 made by relic hunters it could be seen that the eastern third of the floor of Room 154 was standing; consequently, this area was excavated. Covering the floor was storm-deposited earth, and above this was house wreckage to the surface. Among it were charred bits of the second ceiling and portions of many wooden objects which had been in the third story room above it. Most noteworthy among them are the half of a bow once ornamented in red...” (Morris 1928:360).
