Summary

Multiple views of an Early Archaic bifurcate, identified by Kevin Smith and photographed by Nathan Arndt.

Length = 21.8 mm, Width = 27.6 mm, Thickness = 6.1 mm, Onondaga chert, Early Archaic

Fragmentary bifurcate point, similar to Macorkle type, with wide, expanding haft element ending in outflaring rounded ears flanking a broad, shallow concavity. Shoulders expand at 95°-100° angle from the hafting element to sharp/acute shoulders towards the blade edges. Asymmetrical resharpening suggested by one shoulder being very sharp and the other rounded. Blade snapped across the width.
