A total of three archaeological sites, one prehistoric and two historic, were identified during the reconnaissance survey of Grangebel Park. Two of the three, the Grangebel Park Site (NYSM# 11619) and the Griffing Site (NYSM# 11620) contained intact archaeological deposits underneath disturbed fill, and were therefore subjected to more intensive excavation during the subsequent site examination survey.
