ROI013, An Archaeological Survey of the Upper Wabash River Valley

Summary

This is the tDAR Project page that represents Reports of Investigation 013 from the Applied Anthropology Laboratories, Ball State University. Under the auspices of a United States Department of the Interior Historic Preservation Fund survey and Planning Grant administered by the Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Ball state University, the Archaeological Resources Management Service (ARMS) initiated a reconnaissance level sampling survey and data collection project in the Upper Wabash River Valley between Huntington and Logansport, Indiana. The project represented an essential phase of investigation into the archaeology of the Upper Wabash drainage region (Wepler and Cochran 1983a:ll9-121). The Wabash River valley had not been systematically sampled and the lack of information from the valley had hampered the formulation of a regional chronology and settlement pattern models.
