ROI025, Historic Sites From the General Land Office Surveys: An Indiana Survey
Summary
This is the tDAR Project page that represents Reports of Investigation 025 from the Applied Anthropology Laboratories, Ball State University. This project was undertaken to document sites recorded in the public land survey notes and plats of the General Land Office for the state of Indiana and to check a sample of those sites in the field. A total of 1103 sites were documented, of which ten had previously been recorded. Forty sites from six counties were field checked, with approximately 67.9 acres being surveyed. Evidence supporting the existence of thirteen of the sites were found at the reported locations. Six new sites were discovered during field investigations.
