ROI033, Records Management Project for Whitley and Kosciusko Counties

Summary

This is the tDAR Project page that represents Reports of Investigation 033 from the Applied Anthropology Laboratories, Ball State University. A site documentation and archaeological survey was completed for the Indiana counties of Whitley and Kosciusko during 1987-88 to discover the cultural resources of the two-county area. A total of 844 sites were recorded, of which 89 were field-checked. In addition, one site was tested. The culture sequence spanned every known culture period from Early Paleo through historic times.

While significant inroads were made in investigation of the region's archaeological resources, the enormity of data waiting to be documented cannot be overlooked. Further research is of utmost importance in developing a comprehensive regional chronology and in answering the many questions arising from the present study.
