Archaeological data recovery was conducted in 1993 and 1994 at site 9Bl69, a stratified prehistoric site on the Oconee River Fall Line, Baldwin County, Georgia. The Garrity site is located in the northwest of the South Bay district. The site was excavated in July of 1979. The fields of the site were divided into five sections. A preliminary survey indicated that the easternmost fields contained the greatest amount of cultural material. These fields were then systematically surveyed. They were called Cornfield 1 (Locus 1) and Cornfield 2 (Locus 2). The remaining area was divided into Zones A-D.

The Gast Farm project was an interdisciplinary investigation of the archaeological and paleoecological deposits from two alluvial fans along the western edge of the Mississippi River valley in southeastern Iowa. This paper discusses preliminary faunal data from the early Late Woodland (Weaver Focus) component at the Gast Farm site. Organic preservation was good in general at the Gast Farm site but the Weaver locus contained the largest faunal sample. More than 35,000 Weaver faunal remains were recovered, primarily from pit features and sheet midden deposits.
