DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. Thomas E. Moutoux.

Twenty-one pollen samples were examined from three sites in Welsh Canyon within the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site in southwestern Colorado. A stratigraphic record was examined at the Piggyback Site (5LA6568) to provide information to compare with previous paleoenvironmental studies at the Sue Site (5LA5255) and a playa (Scott 1984), as well as geomorphic interpretations of paleoclimate (Schuldenrein 1985). Groundstone was abundant at some of the sites in Welsh Canyon. One hearth fill and six...

POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR THE DOVE CREEK CANAL REACH III PROJECT (5DLl12, 5DLl138, 5DL121B, AND 5DLl120), SOUTHWESTERN COLORADO (1989)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. PaleoResearch Institute.

Thirty-three pollen samples from four sites on the Dove Creek Canal Reach III Project (sites SDLl12, 5DLl138, 5DL121B, and 5DLl120). Three sites represent Basketmaker III occupations, while the fourth is a late Basketmaker III/Pueblo I multi-component site. Samples were collected from floors, benches, and in association with groundstone to identify the subsistence base and address subsistence activities at these sites.

POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM A PUEBLO II PITSTRUCTURE/KIVA AT THE GREENLEE SITE, 5MT3873, SOUTHWESTERN COLORADO (1995)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. Kathryn Puseman.

Samples from a Pueblo II pitstructure/kiva at Site 5MT3873 were analyzed for pollen and charred macrofloral remains. This site is a multicomponent Basketmaker Ill/Pueblo II site. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to provide information concerning possible plant resources utilized in the pitstructure/kiva.

POLLEN AND PROTEIN RESIDUE ANALYSIS AT SITE 5MT3892, SOUTHWESTERN COLORADO (1995)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. Kathryn Puseman.

Seven pollen and three protein residue samples were examined from a kiva and surface room at Site 5MT3892 in southwestern Colorado. The pollen samples represent primarily occupational proveniences associated with the occupation of this site, rather than the final event. Artifacts submitted for protein residue analysis are believed to have been used in the final event of human butchering activities associated with dismantlement of the kiva.

Items in the DAP nonflaked lithic tool assemblage and miscellaneous material files that represent “unusual materials of geologic origin” have been collected within a single rare rocks dataset (Keane and Clay 1987:507). More specifically, the dataset contains both naturally occurring and culturally modified items comprised of geological resources that are found in the Dolores Valley, or have been transported over long distances (Keane and Clay 1987). Items fashioned from rare material types are...

Samples (1985)
DATASET Uploaded by: Jesse Clark

Wilshusen et al. (1999) indicate that this dataset should be viewed as a comprehensive inventory of DAP samples by type and number. Samples were collected for a variety of reasons including chronometric dating, environmental and geological studies, and special documentation. Obtaining the results of their analysis requires users to consult other DAP datasets. Variables in the samples dataset have already been described by Wilshusen et al. (1999); see especially the section entitled "Samples" by...
