The archaeological record, however, provides reliable information about the origins of these "sojourners." Using Japanese tombstones, rock art, and inscriptions on stone we have been able to piece together where the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century Japanese immigrants came from within...

MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF HEARTH FILL AT SITE 48SU1753, SOUTHWEST WYOMING (1995)
Samples from three hearths at Site 48SU1753 in southwest Wyoming were examined for charred macrofloral remains. This site appears to be a multicomponent site, with radiocarbon dates ranging from 4280 + 70 BP to 1500 + 50 BP. Macrofloral analysis is used to determine wood burned as fuel and possible plants processed in these hearths.
MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM SITES 48LN1301, 48LN3997, AND 48LN4114 FOR THE RUBY PIPELINE PROJECT, WYOMING (2009)
Samples from feature fill and/or auger tests at sites 48LN1301, 48LN3997, and 48LN4114 in southwest Wyoming were floated to recover charred macrofloral remains. These sites were excavated as part of the Ruby Pipeline project. Macrofloral analysis will be used to provide information concerning plants utilized by the prehistoric occupants of these sites.

Pecked Petroglyphs at the Gateway Site: The Uncompahgre Style In the Green River Basin (2014)
A recent discovery of Archaic period pecked petroglyphs at the Gateway site (48LN348) is the first occurrence of Uncompahgre style imagery in the northern Green River Basin. Badly impacted by superimposed Late Prehistoric period incised petroglyphs, the Uncompahgre style images are a panel of abstract lines and circular forms whose overall form is similar to other Uncompahgre style petroglyphs at a site further south along the Green River. We document these newly discovered Gateway site...

(2 Sigma 5280-5170 B.P., 5130 - 5100 B.P., and 5080 - 4860 B.P.). Features 3 and 4, both from this occupation, were sampled for pollen (Table 1). The middle occupation is represented by Feature 5, a basin-shaped hearth, that yielded...
POLLEN ANALYSIS OF GROUNDSTONE AND CHARCOAL IDENTIFICATION AT 48SU1753, SOUTHWEST WYOMING (2000)
Several groundstone artifacts and one charcoal sample were sent for analysis and identification. The samples were recovered from a slab-lined fire pit during investigations at site 48SU1753 in southwest Wyoming.
